Killers of the Flower Moon is a 2023 American epic western crime drama film co-produced and directed by Martin Scorsese, who co-wrote the screenplay with Eric Roth. The film is based on the 2017 book of the same name by David Grann.. Set in 1920s Oklahoma, the film depicts a series of murders of Osage members and their relatives following the discovery of oil on tribal lands. Tribal members hold mineral rights to the reservation, but a corrupt local political boss tries to steal the wealth.

Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, and Lily Gladstone lead the ensemble cast, which also features Jesse Plemons, Tantoo Cardinal, John Lithgow, and Brendan Fraser. It is Scorsese’s sixth feature film collaboration with DiCaprio, Scorsese’s tenth with De Niro, and the first time Scorsese has worked with either actor (they worked together on the 2015 short film The Audition), and the eleventh. It is also a showdown between Scorsese and composer Robbie Robertson, who died two months before the film’s release; the film is dedicated to Robertson.

If you read everything before watching the movie and already know the true story, it won’t tell you anything because I usually skim before reality movies anyway. I love feature films, not films under 1 hour 30 minutes, especially the works of directors, producers and actors like this one, the long ones are epic and the best in my experience. Sometimes
