Migration is a 2023 American animated adventure comedy film produced by Universal Pictures and Illumination and distributed by Universal. The film was directed by Benjamin Renner, co-directed by Gairo Homsey, and produced by Chris Meledandri. The screenplay was written by Mike White, with a story by White and Renner. The film stars Kumail Nanjiani, Elizabeth Banks, Keegan-Michael Key, Awkwafina, and Danny DeVito. The story follows a Mallard family who try to convince their overprotective father to take the vacation of a lifetime and move to New England, New York, and then Jamaica.

Illumination announced Migration in February 2022, with Renner, Homsey, and White as director, co-director, and writer, respectively. Renner, who has previously directed traditionally animated films such as Ernest and Celestine (2012) and The Big Bad Fox and Other Stories… (2017), was tasked with adapting his simple drawing style to a computer-animated film. In hiring Renner, studio head and producer Meledandri wanted to focus on the filmmaker’s vision for the project, in comparison to Illumination’s recent films. John Powell composed the film’s music, marking his second collaboration with Illumination since The Lorax (2012).

In a New England forest, Mack Mallard dissuades his ducklings, Dax and Gwen, from venturing into the outside world. They encounter a flock of migrating ducks and are told they are en route south to Jamaica. Mack’s aging Uncle Dan, who also doesn’t want to leave, decides to migrate with his family. They get lost and fly into a rainstorm,
where they encounter an elderly heron named Erin. Erin saves Dax and Gwen from a catfish. The Mallards arrive in New York City, where they face a flock of pigeons led by Chump. They rescue Delroy, a Jamaican macaw, from a human chef who owns him. They discover a paradise filled with pekin ducks, but Dax loses his wing feathers and is scolded by Mack, leading to Dax disowning his father and leaving the group.

he best holiday movie to watch in Christmas time. its a good family oriented movie have every bit of essence in it. its sweet , funny ,loving.
It is so much better than latest Disney and Pixar It has a unique style and in 90 min it makes you laugh, cry and even scared and nervous sometimes . Such a heartwarming story about what it takes to just do something unusual and to leave things you used to behind and discover something new. This movie can also serve as example to us.
We are keep waiting comfortably for the right moment to take a leap that life just goes by and we end up at the same place we started but there’s just so much to do and see as long as we are just a little Optimistic. I went to the cinema with my kids didn’t know what to expect and I went out filled with so many positive emotions..
