Sarpatta Parambarai (translated as Sarpatta Clan) is a 2021 Indian Tamil-language period sports action film directed by Pa. Ranjith, who co-produced it under Neelam Productions, alongside Shanmugam Dhakshanaraj of K9 Studios. The film features a cast that includes Arya, John Kokken, Shabeer Kallarakkal, Dushara Vijayan, Pasupathy, Anupama Kumar, and Sanchana Natarajan.

Set in the 1970s, Sarpatta Parambarai centers around the rivalry between two clans, Idiyappa Parambarai and Sarpatta Parambarai, and delves into the boxing culture of North Chennai, highlighting the associated politics. Initially, Ranjith intended to create a biopic about Birsa Munda but shifted to this project with Arya in mind after Karthi was unavailable due to prior commitments. Production was initially slated for February and March 2020, but was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic, eventually commencing in September 2020 and wrapping up in December 2020. The film was shot over four months in and around North Chennai, with a technical team that includes music director Santhosh Narayanan, cinematographer Murali G., and editor Selva R. K.

The final round begins but is abruptly halted when police storm the venue to arrest Rangan. The DMK government has just been dismissed by the Central government, and the Governor has ordered the arrest of all prominent DMK leaders. Despite the chaos, the audience refuses to leave until the match concludes, leading the police to wait for the last round to finish. As Kabilan prepares to deliver a decisive blow to the exhausted Vembuli, Thaniga’s goons invade the ring, attacking Kabilan and causing a scene. In the ensuing chaos, they strip Kabilan naked on stage, resulting in the match ending without a decision. Rangan and his party members are swiftly imprisoned under the MISA Act. Though Kabilan sustains a head injury, he eventually recovers.

Disheartened by the events, Kabilan decides to retire from boxing and live a modest life with Bakkiyam and his wife, Mariyamma. Kabilan and his friend Vetri visit Rangan in prison, but on the way, they encounter Thaniga at a restaurant. Thaniga provokes Kabilan, leading to a fit of rage where Kabilan attacks him with a sword, resulting in a six-month prison sentence for Kabilan, although Thaniga survives.
